Dave Coulier is opening up about his health battle.
The Full House star shared he has been diagnosed with stage 3 Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, noting he learned about the development just five weeks prior.
"In that time, I've had three surgeries, I've had chemo, I've lost a little bit of hair," he told Today's Hoda Kotb during the show's Nov. 13 episode. "I kind of look like a little baby bird now, but it has been a roller coaster ride for sure."
Coulier went on to explain more about his diagnosis, noting that he's battling B-cell lymphoma.
"It's a very aggressive type of lymphoma, and it happened very quickly," the 65-year-old said. "The onset of this growing lymphoma in my groin area was very quick. So I said, 'Ah, something's not right. I have a golf ball down here.' And they said, you know, we wish we had better news for you, but you have B-cell lymphoma, we need to get you into chemotherapy right away."
The Light Is Waiting actor shared once he received the news, there was another hurdle he faced: Telling his wife Melissa Bring.
"I got the news, I was home by myself," he explained. "She came home twenty minutes later and she said, 'Have you heard anything?' And I said, 'Yeah, I have cancer.' And she said, 'Come on, quit making jokes.' And I said, No, I did, and once that settled in, it was a gut punch."
However, Coulier shared that they then recieved a bit of good news following his results, noting that the cancer has not spread.
"And so at that point, the curability rate went up to 90 plus percent," he noted. "So it's very treatable."
Noting that he's currently in the midst of chemotherapy, Coulier detailed how he's navigating life amid his health journey.
"I'm still really, really busy with life stuff," he told Hoda. "So when I have to rest, I listen to my body, and when I need to step on the gas pedal, I do that."
And as he shared, doctors predict that if everything goes as planned, he may in remission by February.
"I'm treating this as a journey," he shared. "And if I can help someone who's watching today get an early screening, a breast exam, a colonoscopy, a prostate exam, go do it. Because, you know, for me, early detection meant everything."
